First VisitAfter filling out the appropriate intake forms, the doctor will meetwith you and perform the following:•Discuss your complaints and go over your medical history•Perform a problem-focused physical examination, which includes:oOrthopedic testingoNeurological testingoPalpation of the muscles and jointsoRange of motion assessment•Review of examination findings•Discuss proposed treatment protocols and options•Treat your complaint, which may include:oApplication of ice or heatoElectric stimulationoUltrasoundoManual therapies (trigger point work, stretching, etc.)oSpinal decompression therapyoChiropractic manipulative therapyUnlike some offices, we do not perform x-ray examinations on every patient. X-ray technology utilizes ionizing radiation, and we try to limitpatient exposure, unless necessary. The doctor may order x-rays (or more advanced imaging techniques like MRI or CT) if your medical history or complaint requires them.
